July 20th, 2005

“I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit…

I believe in the Holy Spirit…..”

The Trinity in the Nicene Creed

July 19th, 2005

We Believe in One God, The Father, the Almighty….
We believe in One Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God….God from God
We believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord, the giver of life……
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified…..

Rove, Lewis Libby and the Ninth Commandment

July 17th, 2005

It looks like some more truth is coming to light around the saga of Karl Rove and the CIA leak. A certain Lewis Libby appears to have been a source to the reporter Mr. Cooper. I wonder what Moses would have thought about all of this?

Gregory the Great on the Trinity

July 17th, 2005

From a hymn written in the 6th century:

“All holy Father, Son and equal Spirit, Trinity blessed,
send us they salvation;
thine is the glory,
gleaming and resounding through all creation.”

Charles Wesley on the Trinity

July 17th, 2005

Charles Wesley, co-founder of the Methodist Church, wrote a hymn of praise in 1747 titled, “Maker, in Whom we live”. The fourth verse reads:

“Eternal Triune God, let all the hosts above,
let all on earth below record and dwell upon thy love.
Then heaven and earth are fled before thy glorious face,
sing all the saints thy love hath made thine everlasting praise.”

Is there Life after death?- Ian Hunter asks

Trinitarian Christians answer, yes! Absolutely and Jesus Christ the Son of God is the way to get there!

The Supreme court shortlist of prospects

July 17th, 2005

Samuel Alito, Edith Brown Clement, Emilio Garza, Ablberto Gonzales, Edith Jones, J. Michael Luttig, Michael McConnell, John Roberts, J. Harvie Wilkinson III, The Week Magazine posts an interesting article. I wonder who is on God’s short list? Open Theists would venture that God Himself is not even sure. Historic, Orthodox Trinitarian Christians understand that God has this well in hand and knows it all in advance.

Pray for our government, George Bush, Supreme Court Judges etc.

July 17th, 2005

I just received an email from a man with an intercessory ministry who states that he believes George W. Bush is coming under pressure from within the White House to nominate someone not totally in agreeement with his social stands. The Biblical mandate for selecting judges is clear, 1.They must fear God and 2. They must hate bribes.

Muslim Bullies and Western Appeasers

July 16th, 2005

Hughhewitt.com has a post dated July 15, 2005 regarding an interview of John Howard, PM of Australia.

MAXINE McKEW: Prime Minister, if as you say you can’t rule out that possibility that we could have potential bombers right here in Australia, what if today’s announcement, this redeployment to Afghanistan and our continued presence in Iraq is all the provocation they need?

JOHN HOWARD: Maxine, these people are opposed to what we believe in and what we stand for, far more than what we do. If you imagine that you can buy immunity from fanatics by curling yourself in a ball, apologising for the world – to the world – for who you are and what you stand for and what you believe in, not only is that morally bankrupt, but it’s also ineffective. Because fanatics despise a lot of things and the things they despise most is weakness and timidity. There has been plenty of evidence through history that fanatics attack weakness and retreating people even more savagely than they do defiant people.

This seems to be a reoccurring theme among the cowardly of the west. The further from the biblical doctrine of original sin we go, the less we understand bullies and the evil they practice. Our answer is to understand them and not antagonize them. This is exactly what Neville Chamberlain did with Hitler. Appeasement! It didn’t work them and it will not work now. “Peace in our time” required the death of many young men and the loss of civilian life. Yet in the end victory was obtained.

Jesus’ life was not a life of appeasement, but a sacrifice. He set out to defeat the powers of darkness and sin. They were put down with violence. His motto was very clear, “Greater love has no man, than he lay down his life for his friend”. This is not the motto of the coward, but of the hero.

Scott McClellan, Karl Rove, George Bush, White House Press Corps and Trinitarian Christianity

July 16th, 2005

It seems to me that some semblance of decency and honor should be present among a press corps that questions a President’s chief strategist’s honor and decency. As well, a President, like George Bush, who claims to be a Trinitarian Christian is, more likely than not, a man who tells the truth with Lieutenants who do the same. Even Bush’s opponents stated during the last campaign and the last election, “like him or not, he tells the truth”. It seems to me that Karl Rove is a chief object of scorn among the press and the left for some reason far greater than “outing” an already outed CIA agent.
