Calvin on the Trinity
Dean Timothy George wrote in Theology of the Reformers, “The first edition of the Institutes contained only a meager statement on the Trinity; the word itself [sacra trinitas] is mentioned only twice. On the basis of these sparse statements, Pierre Caroli accused Calvin of Arianism. Calvin had no trouble disproving the false charge, but, from that time on, he became an adamant defender of the doctrine of the Trinity.”[p.199]
